With the acquisition of Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar in December 2014 and the addition of the IWC editorial team, Vinous has expanded its coverage to all the major wine regions of the world.

  • Corona di Vinibuoni D’Italia al Mas De Fer di Andreola!

We are proud to announce that Vinibuoni d’Italia Guide 2021 edition has awarded the highest prize – the “Corona” – to “Mas De Fer” Rive di Soligo Valdobbiadene Docg Extra Dry 2019 by Andreola!

Vinibuoni d’Italia is a unique guide in the Italian and international panorama, because it is the only one dedicated to wines from indigenous vines, that is, to those wines produced 100% from vines that have been cultivated in the Peninsula for over 300 years.

Vinibuoni d’Italia is based on an exceptional selection process in terms of commitment and transparency. In fact, over 80 tasters work together in 21 working commissions, operating in their region of competence.

The “Corona” is therefore an important recognition and at the same time a precise indication to connoisseurs and to the Italian and foreign market about the made in Italy wine.

“Mas De Fer” Rive di Soligo is one of the four Rive by Andreola, the wines that represent the highest expression of Valdobbiadene Docg, a line of sparkling wines characterized by the company’s founding qualities.

Mas De Fer is a Valdobbiadene DOCG made with grapes from the Col de Fer and San Gallo hills, in the Rive di Soligo area at 300 to 500 metres a.s.l. on the very edge of the area dedicated to the cultivation of Glera. Soil featuring alternating layers of gravel and compact calcareous conglomerates, temperature excursion and constant ascending air currents create the ideal conditions for adding rich aromas, complexity and character to the wine.

The colour is straw yellow with elegant pale green highlights. Mas de Fer boasts subtle bubbles that rise copiously to form a luscious froth that remains on the surface and then gives way to intense floral scents of wisteria and acacia blossoms, followed by peaches, butter, apples, oranges and an elegant hint of licorice powder. In the mouth it releases a pleasant crunchy sensation, the balance of sweet and savoury, bitter and and spicy is perfect. Ideal as an aperitif, it goes well with cheese, cold cuts, fish, white meat and Oriental specialities.
