• The Territory

    Innate vocation for viticulture

The extraordinary succession of parallel ranges of steeply sloping hills which extend from East to West is the result of the millenary geological history of this territory with an innate vocation for viticulture. Man’s labour has moulded the terrain since ancient times, but it was formed by the great forces of Nature: the raising up of the marine and lake beds, which were then remodelled by the dolomitic glaciers which covered them with sediment.

Between the sea and the mountains

We are between the sea and the Alpine foothills – Venice is 50 kms distant and the Dolomites are about 100kms: where the glaciers passed the soil is deep, constituted of rock, sand and a lot of clay; where the original sea beds remain the soil is more shallow with better drainage, composed mainly of marl and clay.

The effect of the ancient glaciers is more evident in the hills of Valdobbiadene, which are steeper with a totally southern exposition. The different combinations of exposition, altitude and soil render each micro zone unique: thus giving birth to the unmistakeable characteristics of wines such as Rive and Cartizze.

    The varietal Glera

The climate is temperate, the grapes dry rapidly after the frequent summer downpours due to constant ventilation, the southern exposition and the altitude of the hills ( between 100 and 500m ) guarantee a good range of temperatures thus enhancing the luxuriant development of aromas.

Valdobbiadene DOCG is produced from the Glera varietal which has found its ideal environment here for more than 3 centuries: this vine loves well watered soil, but not stagnation so it finds an ally in the steep slopes, and together with the labour of man over the centuries it has moulded the landscape following the natural contours of the hills, along steep and craggy slopes which require daily labourious attention such to be defined “heroic”.

    ANDREOLA VALDOBBIADENE DOCG

    Unique. Heroic. Superior.

This is Andreola Valdobbiadene DOCG, a wine, born in vineyards cultivated on steep and laborious slopes, which is always elegant and pleasing to drink.

In every one of our working days, and in every single bottle of Andreola, we try to express its original characteristics: the agility and softness, the sapidity and creaminess on the palate, the intense fruity aromas on the nose.

  • The History

    Two generations

The work of man modifies the territory, transforming the shape and the rhythm.
Since 1984, the year in which Nazzareno Pola founded the family estate in the heart of the zone of production of Valdobbiadene Docg, Andreola has been an active part in this transformation.

    Stefano Pola

Today Stefano Pola continues to manage the estate with the same philosophy as his father, with the awareness that the best protection of the territory is the profound knowledge that Valdobbiadene Docg is not just a product but a living being: the result of the evolution of the vine, of its adaptability to the terrain and the climatic diversity, of labour which is still completely manual, of a “heroic viticulture”.

Innovation, but with respect for the territory

From the vineyard to the final product being bottled in the cellar, it is necessary to conjugate wisely ancient methods and modern technology, passion with rationality.
An evolution that has permitted Andreola to fully comprehend the “character” of Valdobbiadene Docg, and thus know how to create a unique style of wine, characterised by the purity of the product and the maximum enhancement of its original characteristics: the creaminess on the palate, the intense fruity yet elegant aromas on the nose, the harmony and balance.

    Elegance and communication

The Valdobbiadene Docg of Andreola is distinguished by its elegance, an aspect to which the estate has paid increasingly greater attention not only in its wine but also in its image and comunications since 2009: the year which saw the launching of the DOCG line in a personalised bottle together with the new design of the estate’s trademark. This innovative wave was continued by the new Rive Line, the minimalist packaging of which emphasizes at the same time the uniqueness of the wine and the traceability to the vineyards from which this spumante is produced.

    New horizons

The course set by Andreola, without ever losing touch with its origins, is taking the estate along 2 simultaneous lines, on one hand opening up to foreign markets and on the other collaborating with important national and international institutions, amongst which the National Racetrack at Monza stands out in particular, since in 2014 the special Monza line was created and dedicated to the GP d’Italia of Formula 1.
